The end is near

After a meeting with my adviser and quick phone call, I have finally had one degree paper accepted. Only one more to go!

Woo hoo!

And comps.

Grammar and goodies

A few days ago, I was enjoying some Dove chocolates with The Woman while watching the evening news. This event, in itself, is hardly notable. What makes it notable was the message I found inside the foil wrapper of one of the candies. I believe that they are called Promises, but I'm too lazy to dig the bag out of the trash. Anyway, each individually wrapped candy has a positive message on the inside of the wrapper, and a lot of them are inducements to eat more candy. One of them was different though. It read, "Find little ways to make everyday a holiday."

I nearly choked.

Everyday is an adjective, and it makes no sense the way it is used in the message.

Surely, the writer meant every day. Still, I would think that a company like Mars, Incorporated would have technical writers on staff to prevent this sort of goof.

On the other hand, I ate the candy anyway.

Just a day

I really don't have a thing to post. School this year continues to drain me, mostly because of the state's exit test looming at the end of the year. Yes, I frequently worry that far out. I'm also having technology problems in the university class that I am preparing to teach in a few minutes. What, I ask, is the point of buying expensive equipment that instructors and students can't use? Looking good on paper? Yes, that (I am convinced) is the point.

Snarl.
