For the second time in a row, the pharmacy at the big blue box store has refused to fill my prescription for high blood pressure medication. I'm on two very common, very inexpensive, generic drugs because:
1. I teach in a public school, and
2. I have a family history of high blood pressure
3. The Woman says that I'm a better person when my blood pressure is back down in
the high/normal range
I really can't understand why the employees there would suddenly decide not to fill an ongoing prescription. It's not like anyone would take these drugs recreationally or that I've not been on them for a while.
Anyway, The Woman made an extra trip, a long trip, to the town where the pharmacy is located after I had my doctor call the pharmacy and explain that he intended for my prescription to filled, not just sounded out. I don't know what he, or maybe his nurse, said, but The Woman came home with two bottles instead of one.
So I was off my meds for a couple of days, and I felt awful. Apparently I behaved strangely too: my students say so. But now I'm back to normal -- well, normal for me.
